Who Are We?

Sand Routes

We are a group of journalists that focus on the Trans-Saharan Routes or the Sand Routes of the Post-Classical Period.  We pay special attention to the social, political, economic, and many more aspects of the region.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The Trans-Saharan Trading network, also known as the Sand Routes were used during the Post Classical Period (600-1450 CE). This route is located across the northern half of the African continent. Most of the people that traveled through this route were Arab merchants and people that conveyed the islamic faith.

The TSTR crew went on an adventurous journey to document the event, happening on the Sand Routes, regarding the economy of this region.

A Journey Through West Africa With The Greatest Morrocan Traveler

We have sent various members of our TSTR crew to the Post Classical Sand Routes to investigate the region and its characteristics. Along this journey, they have found one of the greatest Morrocan Travelers, Ibn Battuta.
